Unforeseen & Unexpected Gifts of 2020

"Life is about not knowing, about having to make a change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next." - Gilda Radner

The Unexpected Gifts of 2020.

The need to adapt, change, and make the best of the moment. In reality, no one knows or can predict what will come next, what will be the next unexpected gift...

Like having to cover our garden with sheets and tarps due to the earliest Denver snowfall in 50+ years, 2 days after it hit 100 degrees.

And then, there’s the fires affecting the entire West it seems and especially terrible right now for many friends of mine in Oregon.

Yes, this year has certainly been unique. We have all taken the hits, some of us far more substantial than others.

In January, at our business mastermind, we all had to pick our word for the year. Mine was Growth. The year ahead, my plans, looked decidedly different than it all turned out.

I have moved my business in a direction that I never would have predicted in Jan.

This happened because I kept putting one foot in front of the other. I chose to try something new, and different, to take a chance.

I am grateful for the massive interruption of 2020 while being fully aware and not downplaying the fact that others are struggling/suffering from illness, violence, and fear.

If you know anything about me, you know that I don’t play with that “love and light” bullshit. There is plenty of darkness right now.

We’ve all been tested and the hits keep coming.

You're being forced to change and live in the moment.

And maybe that’s ok. Maybe it’s a silver lining in all of this madness.

As long as we are alive, it is never too late to stop and change direction. Sometimes that means taking risks, stepping into the uncertain, looking at things from a different perspective, and letting go of the things that just don't work.

Take a little time today and honor the gifts you may have received this year, even among the suffering.

The unexpected and need to adapt to change
